The 2023 Bruno Rocca "Fralù" is more than just an entry-level Nebbiolo; it is a meticulous expression of the same limestone-rich soils that produce the estate’s world-renowned Barbarescos. Named after Bruno’s children, Francesco and Luisa (Fra + Lù), this wine represents the vibrant, youthful future of the estate.

 The Tasting Experience

  • Appearance: A brilliant ruby red with delicate garnet reflections shimmering in the light.

  • Nose: An explosive and wide bouquet. Initial notes of wild raspberry and black cherry are layered with elegant hints of crushed rose petals, violets, and a subtle touch of cedar and liquorice. 
  • Palate: Harmonious and exceptionally well-balanced. The 2023 vintage showcases a juicy, medium-bodied profile with vibrant acidity. It features the "typical" Nebbiolo structure—firm yet polished tannins—that provides a sophisticated, persistent finish.
  • Why We Love It

    While Bruno Rocca is famous for the powerhouse "Rabajà" vineyard, the Fralù is crafted from younger vines (averaging 7–10 years old) located between Barbaresco and Neive. This youth gives the wine an immediate drinkability and freshness that its "older siblings" often require years of cellaring to achieve.

  • It is fermented in stainless steel to preserve its primary fruit aromatics and then aged for 8–12 months in French oak barriques, adding just enough texture and spice to elevate the experience.
